Living the Dream Once you step through the door of your Paris apartment, you’re no longer a tourist. You’re part of the neighborhood. Your name is on the mailbox. The bakery clerk recognizes you when you come in to buy your baguette. The grocer helps you select the ripest melon.
You take the city at a leisurely pace. No need to hurry through museums and monuments. You sit by the Seine and read. You meet other travelers and invite them over for wine and hors d’oeuvres. If you’re so inclined, you create gourmet dinners at home, using fresh produce from the open air market. Hemingway once lived here and walked these streets. Now you do. (Once you've seen the main museums and monuments and are ready to go beyond the tourist scene, we're happy to share our own top 10 favorite, free (almost) Paris activities. click here, or go to our section on "More."
